we spent another weekend up at the cabin August 13-15th. This was kind-of a last minute planned trip to spend some time with my sister and her family before they headed off to California. It was a nice couple of days. The kids had fun boating down at the lake and also just playing together at the cabin.

My Oma and Opa came up for the day while we were up there. I have always loved chess since Opa taught me how to play (like most of the grandchildren). I asked him if he would play a game with me. At first I thought I was going to win and it was a pretty close game. He kept saying, "I don't know- I think I lose..." I'm not sure if it was all for show or if he was just trying to be nice (My Opa never loses at chess), but in the end, my 86-year old Opa took me by surprise and won the game! |
